The finish you choose for your pool deck affects how it looks, how safe it is underfoot, and how much maintenance it requires over time. We offer several finish options depending on your priorities.
Brushed or broom-finish concrete is the most common choice for pool decks. It is practical, cost-effective, and provides reliable slip resistance. A standard brushed finish holds up well and is easy to clean, a solid choice if durability and value are the priority.
Exposed aggregate concrete is one of the most popular upgrades for pool decks. The pebbled texture provides excellent grip underfoot and stays cooler than a smooth finish under direct sun. It also has a natural, high-end appearance that complements most pool and landscaping designs.
Stamped concrete takes the decorative possibilities further. We can create the look of natural stone, slate, brick, or tile around your pool, giving you a custom, resort-style finish at a fraction of the cost of the real materials. Stamped pool decks need to be sealed and resealed periodically to maintain their color and protect the surface.
Colored concrete is available across all finish types. Integral color, acid staining, and surface-applied stains can all be used to complement your pool, your home, or your landscaping.
If your existing pool deck is structurally sound but showing its age, surface cracks, fading color, a worn finish, resurfacing is often the right call. A concrete overlay bonds to the existing slab and gives you a fresh surface without the cost and disruption of a full replacement. Resurfacing is also a good opportunity to change the finish: an old brushed deck can become exposed aggregate or stamped through a resurfacing project.
We assess every resurfacing candidate honestly. If the existing slab has structural issues that a surface overlay will not fix, we will tell you, and walk you through the replacement option instead.
Slip resistance is the most important performance characteristic of any pool deck surface. We select and install finishes with safety as a primary consideration, not an afterthought. Exposed aggregate, broom-finished concrete, and properly sealed stamped concrete all provide meaningful traction underfoot, even when wet.
We also pay close attention to drainage slope during installation. A pool deck that holds standing water is both a safety hazard and a long-term threat to the concrete itself. Every pool deck we install is graded correctly to move water away from the pool edge and toward appropriate drainage.
